Debs Williams aka debbidoo
My name is Debs Williams, and I’m the owner of debbidoo Ltd, a marketing and website design company in Clynnog Fawr, halfway between Caernarfon and Pwllheli.
I was born and bred in London but moved to Gwynedd in July 2000 with my husband Dewi (who is originally from Trefor on the Llyn Peninsula) and daughter Emily. Initially we lived in Trefor, but when our accumulated junk led to us outgrowing our little terraced house in October 2004, we moved to a bigger house here in Clynnog, where we still live today.
For the past couple of years, my work has involved promoting Snowdonia for Gwynedd Council, through their Visit Snowdonia website (I do this in partnership with another local marketing company, AQUA Marketing). If you talk to Visit Snowdonia on Twitter, chances are it’s me that’s replying. If you read the Visit Snowdonia blog, it’s my articles you’re reading. I also compile and broadcast Visit Snowdonia’s newsletters, manage their pay-per-click advertising, and co-manage the Visit Snowdonia Facebook page.
Within the constraints of an online marketing contract for a client, there’s only so much I can do to promote Snowdonia in the way I want to promote it (for example, often I’ll take visiting friends and family members to visit a local attraction, but it’s not part of my agreed workload to talk about these experiences in the first person). And that’s where the idea of Love Snowdonia came from, really: a deep love for my adopted home, and a yearning to share this love with the world at large, but with the freedom of my own budget and the ability to share my personal experiences of Snowdonia in my own voice.
Although I have the blessing and support of Gwynedd Council in creating Love Snowdonia, I want to point out that any views expressed here are my own, and not those of Gwynedd Council. And although I have a personal vision of creating a happy, enthusiastic and friendly community here at Love Snowdonia, if you’re looking for excellent factual information about where to stay and things to do in Snowdonia your first port of call should always be Visit Snowdonia.
